Introducing the Notes Tagging feature in Assist! Now, you can effortlessly organize your notes using tags in both Chrome extension and dashboard versions of Forethought Assist. This guide covers how to add and remove tags, filter your notes using tags, and provide answers to frequently asked questions to help you make the most of this feature.

How to add existing tags or create a new tag
1. Install Forethought Assist in the Chrome web store. For a more detailed guide on how to install and set up Forethought Assist, click here.
2. After installing Forethought Assist, log in to your help desk. In this example, I’m using Zendesk.
3. On the upper right side of your help desk dashboard, click Forethought Assist.
4. Click on Notes
5. Open any note
6. Click on the tag icon
7. Click Create tag
8. Enter a tag name
9. Click Add tag
10. Before clicking Update tags, ensure that there is a checkmark beside the tag name for it to be visible.
11. After updating tags, you can now see the tag at the upper left side of your notes.
How to remove a tag
1. Click the tag icon
2. Select the tag you want to remove.
3. Click on Update tags
4. The tag has now been successfully removed from the note
How to filter tags
1. Navigate to Forethought Assist on the right side of your dashboard
2. Click on Notes
3. Open the tags drop-down menu
4. Select a tag from the drop-down list to apply a filter
5. Once you've selected a tag, you will be able to view all the notes related to that tag.

How to add existing tags or create a new tag
1. Click on Assist in your Forethought dashboard
2. Select Notes
3. Choose any note
4. Click on Add Tag
5. Click on Create new Tag
6. Enter a new tag name. In this example, I used “Return Policy” as my tag name because the note’s content is related to this policy.
7. Click on Create tag
How to remove a tag
1. Click on Add tag
2. Click on a tag
3. Click on Clear tags
How to filter tags
1. Go to the Notes landing page in Assist
2. Click on Filter by Tags
3. Select a tag for filtering
4. After selecting a tag, you can see notes related to that tag.
5. You can choose to filter more than one tag.
6. Remove filters by clicking Reset filters

How many tags can I add to a note?
- There are no limits to the number of tags you can add.
Can I delete a tag from a note?
- Not yet, but you will be able to do this on the admin screen soon.
Can I add a tag to a shared note?
- If you are an admin or the original creator of the shared note, you can add/remove tags.
Can I edit a tag?
- Currently, you can not edit a tag, but you can create a new one and attach it to a note.
