Discover's Primary and Subtopics: A Simple Two-Level Taxonomy

Discover features a two-level taxonomy system that enables you to explore topics in greater depth. This system enhances the classification of topics into categories and now includes comprehensive topic overviews.

Primary Topics and Subtopics

The first level comprises Primary Topics, which are broad areas encompassing a range of specific subjects. For instance, Account Management is a primary topic that addresses various aspects of managing your account.

The second level consists of Subtopics, which are more focused and detailed subjects related to a primary topic. Examples of subtopics under Account Management include Update Shipping Address, Unable to Log In, and Password Reset Request. This hierarchical categorization simplifies the identification of customer queries and provides a more accurate and nuanced framework.

How to Navigate Discover's Taxonomy

  1. On your Forethought dashboard, click Discover > All Topics.
  2. View Topics:
    • To see all topics without grouping, uncheck the box next to Group Topics.

    • To view topics in two levels (primary and subtopics), check the box next to Group Topics.

  3. Check Percentage Change:
    • If you check the box next to Show % Change, it will display the percentage change for each topic over time. This percentage compares the current selected time period with the previous one.
